Gi Class

It is a personal choice between gi and no gi training. There are many subtleties and nuances between the two.

The gi demands a lot more precision, and therefore makes you a better fighter. It also offers a greater degree of control of your opponent using a variety of holds, submissions, and options for sweeps. With the gi, you develop an acute sense of balance and great self-defence.  You have to anticipate your escapes and be more precise with your defences.

The student will develop through a programme from the basics and fundamentals to more intermediate and advanced levels. We focus working on a specific area for several weeks before moving on, throughout which the student begins to fit together his learning.

All our sessions whether its gi or no gi, basic or advanced, begin with a warm-up followed by technique learning; specific training eg guard passing, escape; finishing off with sparring.

No Gi Class

Whilst some of the fundamentals are shared between gi and no gi, the no gi game is different. Because there is no-gi to control your opponent and keep him dry, no gi (submission grappling) is a game of speed and sharpness in thinking and timing.

Children's Classes

Our kids classes are extremely popular and are suitable for kids of all age. The team of children are the most successful team in UK competition, recently winning some fifteen medals at the Gracie Invitational 2008, London.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for kids at our club is excellent for getting your child to exercise and keep active in an enjoyable, friendly atmosphere. As well as physical development through exercise, it helps develop social skills with other children, and respect for others, whilst developing their confidence and learning.

All classes are taught personally by Braulio or Victor.
