The Big Question

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is pre dominantly a ground fighting art focussing on submission holds with joint-locks and chokeholds. The premise is that a smaller and weaker person is able to overcome larger and stronger opponents whose advantages are neutralised against a jiu jitsu exponent when when grappling on the ground.

The Short Answer

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an efficient self-defence and an extraordinary way of exercising while developing a wide range of qualities such as: humility, discipline, respect, self-esteem, concentration, body awareness and balance.
